Stanford Medicine Children’s Health – Pediatric Neurology is able to provide services for the following conditions:

  • Seizure disorders, including seizures in the newborn period and epilepsy throughout childhood.
  • Headaches, including migraine and chronic daily headaches.
  • Concussions and the treatment of other traumatic brain injuries.
  • Medical aspects of brain tumors, such as seizures and the need for ongoing therapy.
  • Cerebral palsy, including etiology, diagnosis, and treatment.
  • Weakness caused by nerve or muscle disorders such as Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease or Duchenne’s muscular dystrophy.
  • Movement disorders, including tic disorders and Tourette's syndrome.
  • Behavioral disorders, often as comorbidity with other underlying neurological conditions. These can include school failure, ADHD, and mood and sleep regulations issues.
  • Diagnosis and etiology of autism spectrum disorder, Asperger’s disorder and pervasive developmental disorder-NOS.
  • Developmental disorders such as delayed speech, motor issues, and global cognitive issues, including apraxia of speech and gross and fine motor skills.
  • Complex behavioral issues and their neuropharmacological management.
  • Neurodegenerative diseases causing loss of developmental milestones.
  • Increased intracranial pressure, such as pseudotumor cerebri and other causes.
  • Autoimmune disorders affecting the nervous system.
  • Neurocutaneous disorders such as tuberous sclerosis complex and neurofibromatosis.
  • Neurological aspects of infectious disease, such as complications from meningitis.
