Our Care Team

Candida Brown, MD

Dr. Brown was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. During her youth, she was a nationally ranked gymnast until a knee injury closed that chapter in her life. Through her own physical therapy, she became interested in the medical field and attended the University of Illinois College of Applied Health Sciences, graduating in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy. She then moved to Houston, where she worked as an occupational therapist (OTR), first at Houston Methodist, and then in the local school district, where she provided occupational therapy services to children with special needs. Through her experiences as an OTR, she found her passion in caring for children with neurological concerns.

Sheila Jenkins, MD

Dr. Jenkins has been caring for children for over 20 years. She was born in Mississippi and raised as a military brat. She earned her medical degree at the University of South Alabama. She then completed a residency in pediatrics, followed by a fellowship in pediatric neurology, at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Jenkins is passionate about advancing global health. She is co-founder of the Roatán Volunteer Pediatric Clinic in Roatán, Honduras. She lives in the East Bay with her husband and three children and enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, water sports, and community engagement.
