Stanford Medicine Children’s Health Reproductive Genetics Clinic highlights

  • Provides care throughout the entire reproductive journey. Our Reproductive Genetics Clinic care team specializes in genetic conditions that can impact reproduction at every stage, before, during, and after pregnancy. We provide comprehensive diagnostic evaluations and personalized genetic counseling to ensure that you have the information you need to confidently make reproductive decisions. We collaborate with various specialty teams, including Fertility and Reproductive Health Services, Urology, and obstetric care, to further enhance your fertility and pregnancy care, and with Fetal and Pregnancy Health Program and Neonatology to coordinate care during pregnancy and after birth for you and your newborn. We also offer mental health support for infertility, pregnancy loss, pregnancy-related concerns, and postpartum depression.
  • Offers cutting-edge genetic testing. Because reproductive genetics is a relatively new and previously unexplored field of medicine, genetic testing for reproduction-related conditions is not commonly available at hospitals/clinics around the country. At Stanford Children’s, our team’s medical geneticist and genetic counselor are experts in reproductive genetics. We offer cutting-edge genetic care that includes advanced genetic screening and testing options.
  • Diagnoses and treats a variety of reproductive conditions. Our Reproductive Genetics Clinic doctors diagnose and treat a wide range of reproductive conditions, from common (premature ovarian failure, low or abnormal sperm, etc.) to rare (disorders identified by perinatal screening, empty follicle syndrome, etc.). We work closely with genetic counselors within Perinatal Genetics to provide coordinated, comprehensive genetic care.
  • Gives you access to clinical research studies to find undiscovered genetic causes related to your specific reproductive challenges. Testing often helps provide answers, but sometimes the cause of a reproductive concern remains unknown. In those situations, the condition may be rare or not fully understood. We may offer you and/or your partner access to the latest clinical research studies to potentially find answers and guide your next steps in care.
