Call us today
Contact us to learn more about our pediatric and adolescent gender clinic or to schedule an appointment.
We care for transgender and gender diverse children, adolescents, and young adults. We will see younger children before puberty starts for education, social support, and referral to mental health and community resources.
The first visit is a chance for us to get to know each other. Prior to starting any gender affirming medical treatment, we will need a letter of support from a mental health provider.
Transgender and gender expansive youth often deal with difficult emotions related to societal stigma and their bodies developing in ways that do not match their gender identity. Young people and their families tell us that it is extraordinarily helpful to have a trained mental health professional support them as they navigate social environments (school, family, friends, etc.) and as they consider various forms of gender affirmation (medical, legal, social, etc.). We currently follow guidelines set forth by the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) for transgender and gender expansive children and adolescents, which include the recommendation to establish stable mental health support.
We are happy to answer all your questions at the first visit. You and your child will have an opportunity to get your questions answered together and/or separately. However, we are a pediatric and adolescent clinic and cannot offer consultations to parents without their child/teen.
We have a lot of experience with children who are questioning their gender identity and families who are uncertain of the right path forward. At your first visit, we will get to know you and your child, explore goals, answer your questions, and provide education appropriate to your family.
