The Center for Down Syndrome at Stanford Medicine Children’s Health helps each child with Down syndrome reach his or her full potential and function as independently as possible in all aspects of school and family life. Stanford Children’s is one of the few children’s hospitals in the nation to offer coordination of care and much-needed services to children.
The Center for Down Syndrome at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford is directed by Akash Kumar, MD, PhD. Melanie Manning, MD, also works in the clinic, providing valuable expertise as a pediatrician, cytogeneticist, and clinical geneticist. We provide care to individuals with Down syndrome primarily through our general Medical Genetics clinic. Individuals with symptoms of Down syndrome regression disorder (DSRD) can be evaluated by Keith Van Haren, MD, in Neurology.
We have an experienced team of specialists, including medical geneticists and genetic counselors. Learn more about our care team.
