"My experience as a patient drew me to the eye care field, and inspired me to help others with similar conditions."
My first exposure to the field of Ophthalmology began when I received bifocal glasses at 26 months old. After being diagnosed with Accommodative Esotropia and Amblyopia, I started patching, and wore bifocals until middle school. My experience as a patient drew me to the eye care field, and inspired me to help others with similar conditions. My unique perspective helps guide my approach to patient care. I empathize with patients, and can help parents understand what their child is going through.
As an Orthoptist, I work closely with the Pediatric Ophthalmologists, providing specialized testing and non-surgical management of eye misalignments and vision disorders. I like to take time to explain to parents how different parts of the exam assist in our diagnosis, and how it guides our treatment. You might meet me during your child’s initial visit to see one of our Ophthalmologists, or the doctor may refer your child to see me for a follow up visit. You, your doctor, and I will work together to create a treatment plan for your child.
