Dr. Kaplan is originally from New York and attended Skidmore College, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and biology. After completing medical school at Tel Aviv University, she moved to San Francisco for her pediatric residency. She joined Stanford Medicine Children’s Health in 2019. Dr. Kaplan has extensive experience as a critical care neonatal hospitalist. She is well versed in providing care for NICU graduates and growing preterm infants with and without medical issues.

She lives in Mill Valley with her husband, David, their son, Daniel, and their pooch, Kobi.

Dr. Tamashiro Tairaku was born and raised in Peru. She fulfilled her childhood dream of becoming a doctor when she graduated from Universidad de San Martín de Porres, Facultad de Medicina Humana, in Peru. She then moved to New York, where she completed her residency at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in Elmhurst, New York. Dr. Tamashiro Tairaku joined Stanford Medicine Children’s Health in 2022. She speaks fluent Spanish and enjoys working with diverse communities.

When she is not working with patients, she spends time with her husband and two dogs. Her hobbies include dancing and painting.
