“It’s a privilege to share life-changing moments with families.”

My Approach

I had always thought I would be an adult cardiologist until my rotation in pediatrics during medical school. I was so inspired by three children I cared for—they convinced me that pediatrics was the place for me. I ended up combining pediatrics with the field of cardiology and feel so lucky to have children as my patients.

When parents come to me with a sick child, they are often paralyzed by fear and uncertainty. Through my medical experience I am able to help them understand what’s happening and also give them hope about the future. It’s a rare privilege to be able to share these life-changing moments with families, especially when a child is going through surgery. It binds me to them so deeply; I end up making friends for life. Every follow-up visit is like seeing my friends, people I care about, and hearing about their successes.

This children’s hospital is a special place to work; everyone here has devoted their lives to caring for children. It’s the very best place to be.
