“My office is a safe setting where parents can share their concerns without fear of judgment.”
I've always felt a strong drive to protect the innocent. Children, especially when they are very young, don't have a voice of their own, but they have so much to say if you know how to listen. Learning how to read those clues has been my life's work.
I truly enjoy helping families solve challenges and watching their children grow and progress over time. The parents I work with are an inspiration to me. I can see how much they care for their children, the time and effort they put into caring for their children. It motivates me to be there to support them and partner with them to help keep their kids healthy.
That's why listening is such an important part of my job. My office is a safe setting where parents can share their concerns without fear of judgment. As a fellow parent, I have been there, too. Maybe it's about something I can help with, like asthma, or maybe they just need someone who understands what its like when your kid just won't sleep. There is a lot of power in just listening to what someone has to say.
