“Shared decision-making and respect are at the core of my relationship with the family.”
Caring for a child with a suspected or confirmed cancer diagnosis includes understanding and supporting the family during this difficult time. Shared information, decision-making, and respect are at the core of my relationship with the family, while keeping the child at the center of care.
I am proud of my ability to provide excellent clinical care, to make a difference in the lives of a child and their family, and to be able to support families and guide them through their childs treatment and beyond. I approach the care of each child and their family with the same respect and care that I would want for my own family member.
I chose pediatric oncology because I was amazed and humbled by the strength and spiritual generosity of children I treated during my medical school training, and also because of the opportunity to contribute to the exciting scientific advances that are continuously being made, leading us to better treatment results and higher rates of cure.
