Endocrinology
From a young age, my interest in medicine was sparked by the potential to directly help people and improve their lives through the application of knowledge. The logical nature of endocrinology appealed to me, and I chose pediatrics as my specialty because I believe that treating children offers the greatest opportunity to positively impact their long-term health.
What I love about working with kids is their infectious energy. I am fascinated by the resilience and joyfulness of children, even in the face of illness. The opportunity to develop relationships with patients and witness their growth and progress in this field has been incredibly fulfilling.
When working with families, I often need to explain complex concepts. Empowering families to make informed decisions is important to me. I like to use drawings, diagrams, and clear explanations to help them understand the role of hormones, how the body controls them, and what happens when something goes wrong. For many patients, if their body can’t produce a hormone, we can provide replacement therapy and help to restore their normal functioning, allowing them to live full and healthy lives.
