“I've always wanted to make a difference in people's lives.”
I believe each patient should receive an individualized care plan. I always provide families with treatment options, both surgical and non-surgical, so that I can help them make an informed decision. It is my goal to counsel these families with the most up-to-date health information and provide the highest level of care to their child.
As a parent, I understand the importance of family involvement when caring for a child. Because a child is often unable to specify their symptoms, I always involve caregivers and parents when formulating a treatment plan. I believe this team approach offers the family a better understanding of their child's health and therefore the most effective treatment yielding the best outcome.
I've always wanted to make a difference in people's lives. As a physician-scientist, I have the best of both worlds: to provide care to children to make an immediate impact on their health; and to advance our knowledge through translational research to make a long-term, lasting impact for generations to come.
