“Our team educates and supports each family so they can care for their child’s diabetes and help them have a full life pursuing their dreams.”

My Approach

I enjoy having children, adolescents and young adults as my patients. The biggest impact I can make as a physician is to help a young person live a healthy, fulfilled life. When children are diagnosed with diabetes, it is very challenging for them and their families. Our diabetes team works to educate each family so they can care for their child’s diabetes. We reassure families that with proper care, diabetic children can have normal, healthy lives and do very well. As children transition through adolescence, we make sure they have the necessary support and education to take care of themselves.

Our pediatric endocrinology program here at Stanford has a distinguished history. We have many leaders in the field, and the research we do in diabetes treatment and technology is known worldwide. Because we participate in clinical trials, our patients have access to cutting-edge technologies while they are in the research stage. Through advancements in both technology and care, we are helping reduce the burden of care and improve glucose management for our patients with diabetes. Ultimately, our aim is to prevent and cure diabetes, and we work each day toward that goal.
