Pediatric Endocrinology
“I find joy in being an advocate and mentor.”
When I was very young, I saw a homeless man with leprosy; I didn’t understand its implications at the time, but the experience stayed with me. When I eventually learned more about his disease, I became perplexed about how a small bacteria could have such a profound effect on this man’s ability to live life fully. This realization drove my ambition to become a doctor, so I could help underserved people fully participate in society without their health conditions defining them.
Pediatric endocrinology captivates me due to its broad influence across organ systems. My passion lies in supporting conditions such as transgender care, obesity, and reproductive disorders. I love working with kidsthe vitality and potential in children resonate with me deeply, and I find joy in being an advocate and mentor.
I approach patient care by understanding each child’s aspirations and personal lives, building rapport beyond medical concerns. Establishing a partnership with both the child and their family is important to me. My goal is to ensure that the child feels empowered and understood during medical discussions by facilitating communication that is relatable and nonintimidating, and allows the child to feel a sense of control over their own body.
