I take a holistic approach to care. I believe that you can dramatically improve underlying conditions and decrease symptoms by doing more than just prescribing medication. I always look at lifestyle, nutrition, diet, exercise and other factors in order to treat a child's pulmonary condition.

I try to promote health as opposed to treating illness. Since I trained in integrative medicine (conventional and nonconventional therapies), other physicians often send families to me who prefer that their child not be put on chronic medication. While I do prescribe medications, I like to first focus on a child's overall health. My goal is to use the fewest amount of medications with the fewest amount side effects.

Asthma is a great example of a childhood disorder where if you improve nutrition and exercise, ensure adequate sleep, and control certain environmental factors where the child lives, you often can make a dramatic difference without medication. I'm here to work together with families to improve not only their child's pulmonary problem but their feeling of well-being, as well.
