Jasmin Makar, MD

I grew up watching how much fulfillment my parents derived from their jobs; my mother is a teacher and my father is a cardiologist. A large part of my job is preventive care—preventing illness by educating families and fostering healthy habits. It’s a tremendous privilege to be able to care for children of all ages and to create lifelong relationships with families.

Parenting is very challenging. Parents are under enormous pressure to do everything well, and many parents do not have extended family nearby to provide support. My goal is to help parents navigate all the joys and growing pains of childhood development.

I like to guide parents to find practical solutions to behavioral issues. I enjoy engaging kids in discussions about their health so they can become their own advocates.
