“Hearing what patients and their families have to say...informs my approach to care.”
I knew early on that I wanted to be a doctor. I love forming relationships–getting to know people and helping them–so medicine was a natural fit. During my residency I worked at a clinic in Botswana. This experience taught me that despite differences in approach or availability of resources, the core tenet of medical practice remains the same: to care for and heal patients.
I spend a lot of time with my patients and their families. Hearing what patients and their families have to say is important to me and informs my approach to care. When our appointment is done, I want them to feel that their needs have been addressed and that we are all on the same page without feeling rushed. Whether it is a well-visit or a sick visit, having a positive impact on children's lives truly fulfills me.
